Fox Float Rhythm (2026)
Released in 2025, the Fox Float Rhythm is essentially a Fox Float DPS.
- Float = all Fox air shocks (Float X, Float X2, etc.)
- Rhythm = Fox’s OEM-only “entry-level” line (also used on 36 and 38 forks), generally better than RockShox entry-level and sometimes even mid-range
- DPS = Fox’s XC shock, sold from 2016 to 2024
Is this good news?
Yes.
- Components are identical or compatible with the DPS, extending parts availability and long-term serviceability,
- DPS shocks are very repairable, and repairs are cheaper than full replacement (shock + revalve + hardware),
- The DPS design is more durable than current Fox shocks, when used on the right bike,
- As an OEM-only product, many units will appear on the grey market or as “new, removed from new bike”.
OK FOR:
- Non-competitive XC bikes,
- Spare parts supply for the many DPS shocks already in circulation.
NOT OK FOR:
- Enduro
- All-mountain bikes over 150 mm
- E-bikes
- DH (obviously)
Takeaway:
→ On big bikes or e-bikes, this is a bad choice (as seen on some DPS-equipped Levos: it won’t last).
→ For non-race XC and many older bikes, this is good news.
